Types of “Timbela” Garden Sheds

We offer two main types of wooden garden shed constructions, each with distinct advantages:

Panel Sheds
These sheds are assembled from pre-made wall panels connected with screws.
- Advantages: Easy and quick assembly, flexibility in changing window and door positions by adjusting panel placements.
- Disadvantages: Less structural strength compared to other types; boards must be treated on both sides to protect against environmental factors.
Interlocking Sheds
This type of shed is assembled from boards with grooves and tongues that fit tightly together.
- Advantages: Strong, stable construction with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
- Disadvantages: Window and door positions cannot be changed; boards must be treated on both sides.

Assembly and Durability

Both panel and interlocking wooden sheds can be easily assembled within 1–2 days, depending on the shed’s size and the user’s experience. To ensure longevity, it’s essential to consider several key factors:

Ensure Quality Roof Waterproofing – We offer optional bitumen shingle kits with each shed to effectively protect the roof and extend the shed’s lifespan.
Proper Foundation – The shed’s base should not be installed directly on grass or unstable surfaces. It’s recommended to set up a solid, dry foundation, such as on concrete slabs.
Wood Protection – The wood must be adequately protected against moisture, pests, and mould. We recommend using our suggested wood preservatives to ensure long-term protection.

Wood is a natural, “breathable” material that absorbs excess moisture from the air and later releases it. Due to this hygroscopic property, a wooden garden shed remains functional and cozy even under changing weather conditions.

Warranty and Quality

“Timbela” provides a 2-year warranty for all wooden garden sheds, covering the replacement of defective parts. If you choose our recommended water-based wood preservatives, the warranty period for wooden components extends to 5 years.
